Well, that was fun wasn’t it? “Super” Wild Card Weekend was a whole lot like Wild Card Weekend … however, it was SUPER! Everything is more enjoyable when you add “Super” in front of it. Take a look at: Mario Bros., Nintendo Man, Mario, and bowl. Sorry, I’m unable to keep this up. This was all an attempt by the Madden NFL 24 to make more money, so congratulations I guess.
We definitely didn’t have to watch the Buccaneers blast at the Eagles in a rout, or watch the Chiefs defeat the Steelers during a three-hour broadcasting tribute to Ben Roethlisberger — but we did and it was the most boring portion of the weekend.
The more you have, the less. The weekend’s four games was already perfectly arranged. The two NFC, two AFC symmetry was there and it was a delight. We’re now pushing this whole affair into Monday, and an unbalanced 3 game Sunday. I understand that raging against the machine is an unpractical enterprise, I just hope that the players will see some value in the coming CBA of being at risk for an additional week of regular season as well as an additional playoff game.
Let’s not waste any more time in why this weekend was not a good one instead focus on the amazing things that transpired.
