Ascent to Power is a crucial quest in Path of Exile 2 that offers you the opportunity to choose your Ascendancy Class, which will greatly influence your playstyle and abilities moving forward. How to Unlock the Ascent to Power Quest
While journeying through the passage, you’ll start noticing small paper seals hanging on the walls. Follow these seals until you find a door almost completely surrounded by them. As you enter the room, you’ll encounter Balbala, who is tied up in the center. You need to carefully remove each of the bindings to release her. After doing so, prepare yourself for a boss fight against Balbala the Traitor.
How to Defeat Balbala the Traitor
Once you release Balbala, she will immediately engage you in battle. The fight is fast-paced and chaotic, with multiple mechanics to handle. Here’s what to expect during the battle:
Golden Throwing Knives: These boomerang-like knives fly out, return to Balbala, and are thrown again. Watch for their patterns.
Tornado of Fire: Balbala will soar into the sky, then crash back down, causing a fiery tornado in her wake.
Direct Golden Knives: She’ll throw a wave of knives that hover for a moment before targeting you directly.
Minefield: Balbala will scatter glowing knives that lodge in the ground. These explode after a short time, so avoid them.
Summon Minion: She can summon a Grim Reaper-esque minion to assist her.
Fiery Runes: Balbala will place runes on the ground that will ignite you if you stand on them.
Tactics:
Stay mobile to avoid the various AoE (area-of-effect) attacks, especially the boomerang knives and the fiery runes.
When she disappears to teleport, make sure you’re constantly dodging to stay safe.
Keep an eye on the ground for explosive traps and POE currency for sale minions that might appear.
