Path of Exile 2: How To Find More Citadels
After completing the main campaign, and the Cruel difficulty Acts 1 through 3, players reach the Endgame and access to the Atlas of Worlds. In the Atlas map Path of Exile 2 players will come across a variety of unique structures that offer unique gameplay mechanics or Path of exile currency challenges, like the Realmgate, Lost Towers, the Burning Monolith, and of course, Citadels.
Citadels are one of the most elusive endgame objectives. Lost Towers rise above the Fog of War, and the Realmgate and Burning Monolith spawn near the Atlas start point. In the 0.1.1 update Citadels will be made to be more visible from further away, but if you can’t find any in your Atlas map, follow these tips to find more Citadels in PoE 2.
What Are Citadels For In PoE 2?
In Path of Exile 2, Citadels are a unique type of map node that comes in three varieties: Iron, Copper, and Stone. Each Citadel houses a different Boss, which re-uses bosses from the PoE 2 campaign with major power-ups suited for an endgame boss. When you defeat these bosses, each will drop a Crisis Fragment.
These are essentially Pinnacle Boss keys which are required to open the Burning Monolith, home to the Atlas pinnacle boss, the Arbiter of Ash. This completes the “Pinnacle of Flame” quest you unlock after entering the Burning Monolith map for buy POE orbs the first time and inspecting the locked door.
