The rules of face-to-face for hand changed a couple of years ago Mut 23 coins. In the trenches, you would often be permitted to strike defenders inside the helmet (more similar to the facemask) if you removed the hand as soon as the contact occurred. If you kept your hand in the helmet or facemask for more than one tick, it would be an offense. In addition, if the impact of the blow to the helmet brutally snapped the defender’s head then it was a crime.
In 2015 to generally “any contact with the helmet constitutes a foul,” it was flagged up to seven times per game in at the trenches, mainly along the offensive line.
I remember receiving a call from my brother shortly after their first preseason game when several flags were thrown at him for the rule and he was pissed. He was playing against a smaller defensive line and when he decides to punch his chest, his hands will naturally rise up and make brief contact with the helmets of the players. The incident was never previously reported and now it was. We all feared it would fundamentally change offensive line play.
The regular season began, these calls went away in a flash. I’m fairly certain Mitch wasn’t cited for any of these in the course of the season. They weren’t often implemented as per the rulebook , and accidental contact with the helmet was not considered the equivalent of a foul. A blow directly to the helmet could be lawful and playing in trenches was not required to be fundamentally changed.
It’s a long and windy method of saying that I don’t believe the Madden NFL 23 remains to liberally enforce this new helmet rule in the regular season. Do they make mistakes calling it at any the time? Of course they’ll make mistakes, but the rule shouldn’t change the fundamentals of the game if it’s enforced properly madden 23 coins cheap.
